The Perseverance of Birds

The Celts believed that the eagle had the unique ability to look into the sun and not be dazzled. If this were the case, it would make the eagle an animal of great perseverance and courage. We created this wool area rug to showcase the determined spirit of the eagle. It's four winged eagle design is taken from the "symbols of the four evangelists" seen in the Book of Kell, a Celtic Manuscript located in Trinity College Dublin.

Designed in Ireland. Made by Hand.

We are Jeremiah Higgins, Ireland's oldest shop. For over a decade, we have been producing beautifully crafted wool area rugs and wallhangings inspired by Irish folklore. These products are designed by us and carefully hand-assembled by textile experts.
